Abstract

Trauma-induced alterations in the endocannabinoid (eCB) system have been reported in animal models and few human studies of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but there is no consensus on the direction of these changes. Given the potential therapeutic use of cannabinoids in PTSD treatment, it is critical to understand the nature of the eCB system alterations in individuals with PTSD.
