Abstract

We have observed that the transition from uniform sliding charge density wave (CDW) to non-uniform sliding CDW (when CDW in two adjacent parts of the sample starts to move with different velocities in the same direction) is accompanied by generation of a novel internal frequency proportional to the current difference in these parts. The effect is manifested as an additional series of Shapiro steps in I-V curve at the presence of RF-field.
