Abstract

Diamond paste based amperometric biosensors were designed for the direct assay of l- and d-pipecolic acid in serum samples. l-Amino acid oxidase and d-amino acid oxidase were used for the design of the amperometric biosensor used for the assay of l- and d-pipecolic acid, respectively. Monocrystallin diamond powder and paraffin oil were mixed with the enzyme solution to form the modified diamond paste. The linear concentration ranges for the proposed biosensors were in the fmol/L to pmol/L magnitude order. The biosensors proved high reliability for the enantioanalysis of pipecolic acid in serum samples.
