Diagnostics, classification and intensive care management of lung contusion

as consequence of our study we developed a new classification of lung contusion considering CT, radiological, bronchoscopic and respiratory data. For the monitoring of the patients we now use intrapulmonary blood volume, pulmonary arterial wegde pressure and extravascular lung water measurement as well as continuous central venous blood oxygenation measurement and continuous cardiac output measurement. Most patients are now treated with kinetic therapy.
