Abstract

We made a lm long bus bar by fixing 10 unit conductors prepared by stacking 30 wires on a decagonal FRP spacer. The decagonal structure reduces the magnetic field induced by a large current. The bus bar could carry 1215 A (10−13 Ω•m definition) when a current was alternately carried and returned, and 2300 A (10−13 Ω•m definition) when a current was carried in one direction. And a 2 kA unit conductor 1 m long was made by stacking 250 wires. The unit could carry 2,370 A (10−13 Ω•m definition). This high-Tc superconducting bus bar is a promising candidate for practical use as a large current conductor in liquid nitrogen.
