Abstract
ABSTRACT This article outlines the work of a task group responsible for developing inclusive language and image guidelines for LibGuide creators at one academic library. While the library’s LibGuide creators already adhered to Web site accessibility guidance, guidelines for the use of inclusive language and images were lacking. This article describes the process for creating the guidelines and the assessment of the guidelines 1 year after their incorporation. From their review of existing inclusivity guidelines created by other organizations and from the feedback they received in their assessment of the guidelines, the authors conclude that LibGuide creators benefit from having a set of inclusivity guidelines developed for the specific context of research guides in an academic library.
