Abstract

A method based on IR spectroscopy has been developed for determination of the composition of block copolymers containing dimethylsiloxane and polycarbonate oligomers. Discrepancies between the IR and the NMR data do not exceed 6%. By comparing the data obtained with the ratio of degrees of polycondensation of the initial copolymers deductions may be made regarding the character of the end blocks, and sometimes in regard to the MW of the block copolymers.
