Abstract

A new series of chalcone incorporated 1,3,4-thiadazole-oxazole (10a-j) compounds have been prepared and its chemical structures were confirmed by spectroscopic techniques. Further, all compounds were explored for cytotoxic properties alongside human cervix cancer (SiHa), human lung cancer (A549), human breast cancer (MCF-7) and human colon cancer (Colo-205) cell lines by employing MTT assay. The known chemotherapeutic drug candidate as etoposide used as positive control. According to the data, all the compounds showed good to moderate activities. Among them, compounds 10a, 10b, 10c and 10d displayed most promising activity.
