Abstract

Working in an office room required to ensure the lowest possible noise. For this purpose, a room should provide a reverberation time RT between 0,4 and 0,6 s. In order to achieve such a standard in regard to acoustic conditions, rooms must have high sound absorption. Minimum sound absorption of open plan office rooms per square meter of floor is 1.1 m2. The article presents a method for calculating sound absorption of room according to Polish standards PN-B-02151-4: 2015. An example of use of the two acoustic ceilings with different sound absorption coefficients α has been given. The results of calculation of sound absorption of the room showed that a ceiling with sound absorption α above 0.9 will be sufficient to obtain appropriate acoustic absorption. The given method should always be used when designing and renewal of office rooms.
