Abstract

A real sequence chaotic direct sequence spread spectrum (CDS/SS) communication system is proposed. In order to design a system with realizable occupied bandwidth, the trend of variety of chaotic spectra is showed and a CDS/SS system through a band-pass filter (BPF) is taken into account making bandwidth in an acceptable range. The purpose of this paper is to discuss a real sequence CDS/SS system, the spectrum of the system and consider the effect of a filter with realizable occupied bandwidth to the system for practical use. The proper BPF in the transmitter can make the occupied bandwidth of the high data rate chaotic sequence relatively narrow in order to solve the existing problem brought by its extremely wide occupied bandwidth, which can not be implemented in radio frequency of a real system. Simulation results are presented to show the trend of variety of chaotic spectra with different bifurcation parameters and to show that a proper BPF can guarantee a CDS/SS system working effectively with the realizable occupied bandwidth, although the filter breaks some characters of chaotic dynamics.
