Abstract

In this work, a new band-notched ultra wideband (UWB) antenna based on electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) technology has been designed and analyzed. A feed line with four EBG structure unit cells is modeled to analyze EBG characteristics, such as the reflection phase and the transmission coefficient S21. Besides, EBG structure is used in a UWB antenna to create a stop band and several main parameters of the proposed antenna are discussed. At the end of this paper, physical model and measured results are presented and the measured results well match with the simulations.
