Abstract

In this letter, a new band-notched ultra wideband (UWB) antenna based on electromagnetic band gap (EBG) technology has been designed and analyzed. The EBG structure is applied in a UWB antenna to create a stop band and it is located between the microstrip feedline and the ground plane. EBG characteristics, such as the reflection phase and the transmission coefficient S21, are studied. At the end of this paper, physical model and measured results are presented and measured results are well matching with simulated ones. And several main parameters of proposed antenna are analyzed and discussed in detail.
