Abstract

The ultra high frequency (UHF) sensor antenna for detecting partial discharge (PD) in distribution network switchgear is studied. Because of the long period of insulation deterioration in the switchgear, more attention is paid to the middle and later stage of insulation deterioration, and the frequency of PD signal that needs to be paid attention to is wider. Among the commonly used UHF antennas, Archimedes spiral antenna has a wider working frequency band and excellent low-frequency working characteristics, Therefore, Archimedes spiral antennas of UHF Sensors with different outer diameters are designed by using ANSYS HFSS. The influence of the outer diameter of Archimedes spiral antenna on the S11 parameters of Archimedes spiral antenna is studied, and the partial discharge signal acquisition experiments are carried out. The results show that the partial discharge characteristic signals collected by Archimedes spiral antenna with different outer diameters are different. This provides a theoretical basis for the design of UHF sensor antenna used in switch cabinet.
