Abstract

Following 9/11, the Indian Ocean tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, the amount of papers related to mobility simulation in evacuation conditions has significantly increased. Several topics have been developed, but in most cases these are implemented considering an isolated and non-system approach. This paper presents the major contributions that consider evacuation conditions. The paper shows how the contributions are classified in respect of simulated user decisions and the paper highlights the necessity of a system framework.
