Abstract

The article explains that any organization - whether small or large, »best employer« or not so much - will benefit from a mediation program designed specifically to address potential workplace issues. The article demonstrates the need and effectiveness of an organizational mediation program that addresses workplace disputes, especially in the post-pandemic world. It focuses on the benefits of mediation as a process based on the example of the mediation program that is in place at UNICEF1, UNDP2, UNOPS3, UNFPA4, and UN5 Women. Those benefits include open communication, early and effective resolution, dedicated space for listening, neutrality, flexibility, professionalism, specialization in conflicts, focus on relationships, and confidentiality.
