Abstract
Latex hypersensitivity is fairly common. Most balloon-tip Swan Ganz catheters are made of latex and available latex-free catheters have limitations such as the requirement for large sized sheaths. The goal of this study was to evaluate the safety of performing right heart catheterization (RHC) with latex-containing catheters in patients with a history of cutaneous allergy to latex.
