Abstract

This article reviews the synthesis and characterization of molybdenum π complex, and it is divided into two subchapters: cyclic π complexes and non-cyclic π complexes. The work is a sequel to COMC III (2007), and as such the material covers the literature from mid-2005 to the end of 2020. It is organized broadly based on the type of ligands. Cyclic π ligands are classified into cyclopentadienyl or functionalized cyclopentadienyl ligands, and arene ligands; non-cyclic π ligands mainly include alkenyl/alkynyl ligands, allylic ligands and other η2 or η3 ligands.
