Abstract
Peritoneum is one of the common site of colorectal cancer metastasis and associated with a poor prognosis. The 8 th edition of AJCC cancer staging system has updated the M staging. Peritoneal carcinomatosis metastasis to visceral organs is designated as M1c. It is important to pay attention to the peritoneal metastasis which takes heavy burden on healthy cost. Great progress has been made in the area of the clinical presentation and mechanisms of disease progression. The aim of our study is to provide the current status of the diagnosis and treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis. Key words: Colorectal neoplasms; Therapy; AJCC cancer staging; Peritoneal metastasis
