Abstract

Voltage source multilevel inverter has acquired extensive applications in industries. They have the advantages of higher output voltage with lower switching frequencies, less THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) for increased level. The evaluation of multilevel inverter loss is a trivial task due to problem of unequal current sharing among the switches for different levels. This paper applies Differential Evolution Algorithm (DEA) to evaluate the optimum switching angle for minimum THD of CHB-multilevel inverter with IGBT as the switch. Here in the article current control technique is applied to grid integrated PV fed multilevel inverter with PR (Proportional Resonant) controller and the stability is compared with PI controller.
