Abstract
Rational use of natural resources and environmental protection are an important part of Cuba's state policy to achieve sustainable socio-economic development. The country has a variety of natural resources, during the exploitation of which it is necessary to solve various environmental problems. Cuba is also making significant efforts to combat climate change. The article discusses issues of legislative support for nature protection, environmental problems arising as a result of economic activities, and measures to overcome them. The authors show that despite the limited funds and the targeted steps taken to protect nature, Cuba was able to improve its environmental position against the world background and achieve some success in preserving its natural potential.
