Abstract

The entire research carried out deals with the car frontal frame structure crash problem. In particular, the conducted study is aimed at general design improvement of the situation of a car crash into a rigid unmovable wall with different angles of contact. The structure behavior was studied from the mechanical point of view and a new design was suggested. The performance describing the data calculated from the new design were confronted to status quo ante. The best performance design was chosen for further improvement via optimization. From the results obtained, a set of new proportion ratios for the design of a frontal car frame structure was calculated.
