Abstract

A coplanar waveguide fed jasmine flower shaped superwideband antenna for terahertz pattern diversity applications is presented in this paper. It contains a second iterative jasmine flower shaped radiator inscribed in a circular ring and modified coplanar waveguide ground plane. The antenna element is operating from 0.65 THz to more than 100 THz (for S11≤-10 dB). The 2-element pattern diversity configuration is operating from 0.88 THz to more than 65 THz. The overall footprint of antenna element and diversity configuration are 110 μm×78.5 μm and 110 μm×185.5 μm respectively. The diversity configuration has interport isolation of more than 30 dB in maximum part of its operating range, distorted omnidirectional radiation patterns (planes interchanged between two ports) and acceptable values of MIMO performance parameters.
