Abstract
In this paper, a circular Sierpinski superwideband terhatertz antenna element and its pattern diversity configurations are investigated. The antenna element comprises modified coplanar waveguide feedline fed circular radiator loaded with asymmetric circular slots and modified ground plane. For antenna element the lower cutoff frequency is 0.86 THz and for pattern diversity configuration it is 0.78 THz. For both configurations, the higher cutoff frequency is extending beyond 100 THz. The antenna element has dimensions of 110 × 74 µm2 whereas the diversity configuration has dimensions of 110 × 194 µm2. The proposed diversity configuration has distorted omnidirectional radiation patterns along with 35 dB or more isolation and good MIMO performance.
