Abstract

In this paper, a microstrip line fed windmill shaped antenna for superwideband multiple input multiple output (MIMO) applications at terahertz frequency spectrum is proposed. It comprises a second iterative fractal radiator, tapered microstrip line feeding and partial rectangular ground plane. The antenna element and MIMO configurations are operating from 3.1 THz to more than 60 THz (for S11≤-10 dB). The footprint of spatial and pattern diversity configurations are 110 μm×125 μm and 110 μm×155 μm respectively. Both configurations have isolation more than 30 dB in maximum part of their operating frequency spectrum along with distorted omnidirectional radiation patterns and acceptable values of MIMO performance parameters.
