Abstract

Objective: To explore the relationship between university librarian' working pressure and its coping style. Methods: 116 university librarians were questioned by coping style scale and working pressure scale. Results: The source of working pressure of university librarians was multivariate, in which the pressure of working burden, professional popularity and professional development was strong. Obvious differences were found between the male and female librarians in terms of professional burden dimension and coping style. Different working ages indicated significant differences in professional burden dimension and engaged pressure dimension. There was remarkable correlation between working pressure and coping style of university librarians. Conclusion: University librarians suffered from greater pressure. The school authorities should establish psychological support system to alleviate university librarians' working pressure, raising self enduring ability and dealing with working pressure with active attitude.
