Abstract

The author describes a decorticated hypogastric flap used in the correction and prevention of retracted scars and suprapubic stairsteps. These deformities are common after cesarean sections and in patients who undergo liposuction followed by the retrieval of excess skin. The surgical technique is described. The author also analyzes the advantages and results that occur without an increase in either the time of surgery or complications.
