Abstract

The purpose of this article is to reveal the didactic potential of corpus tools through its use in the framework of content language integrated learning on the example of using the Sketch Engine corpus manager and its application as part of the developed set of tasks for the bachelor program „Industrial Management” at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The features of content language integrated learning within the modern educational space of higher education are studied, and new trends in teaching a foreign language, as well as its integration with subject acquisition, are characterized. Didactic properties and didactic functions of the Sketch Engine corpus manager are described, as well as methods of using corpus tools in the implementation of CLIL technology in order to form foreign language subject competence among university students. A pattern of interaction between methodological principles and didactic properties of corpus technologies has been developed. A detailed classification of tasks implemented using corpus technologies is presented. The effectiveness of this tool is illustrated.
