Abstract

Abstract Greenhouse grown crotons, 6-7 inches high were artificially infested with twospotted spider mites. The plants were grown in 6 inch pots that were evenly spaced on a greenhouse bench. Treatments were replicated 5 times in a RCB design. The plants were sprayed until runoff with a Gilmore all-purpose hand sprayer. A surfactant* was added to each treatment. Applications were made on 25 Jul, 29 Jul, and 5 Aug. Spider mite infestations were evaluated 3 days after each treatment except after the third treatment where the plants were checked at 3 and 10 DAT. Infestations were determined by examining 2 leaves per plant and counting the number of live spider mites per leaf. The leaves were chilled prior to inspection.
