Abstract

The article presents a synthesis of research on the chorology of some fern species on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The Phylum Fern (lat. Polypodiophyta) includes the oldest higher plants, and nationally, the species Dryopteris filix-mas (L.) Schott and Athyrium filix femina (L.) Roth. are considered rare ferns, included in the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova (2015), the category of vulnerable plants (VU), which fully feel the negative impact of natural and anthropogenic factors. The current environmental changes, including climate change, also felt on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, require mapping the spatial distribution of native species and tracing future trend in their chorology under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors. The spatial distribution of the species targeted in the study based on the use of modern research methods, with the use of Geographic Information Systems, the species spatially distributed depending on the description of their location in the bibliographic sources.
