Abstract

The article is devoted to the creative contribution of architect Nikolay Dmitriev to the development of housing construction in Saint Petersburg. The examples of the architect’s works trace the characteristic changes in the principles of the formation of the residential environment that occurred in the practice of housing construction in Saint Petersburg at the turn of the 20th century. The authors reveal the relationship between the artistic experience of Russian architecture and the features of the formation of complex residential development, which served as a prototype for the further development of residential complexes of the post-revolutionary period.
