Abstract
Social innovation deals in the commercialization of products and services for the holistic development of society with minimal harm to the environment and national resources. A number of social innovators, working in the country, have based their businesses on the development and commercialization of eco-friendly products, services, and even eco-friendly production processes. Eco-friendly products play a significant role in sustainable development by reducing environmental impact. They minimize resource consumption, decrease pollution, and promote responsible production and consumption patterns. Such products often use renewable materials, have lower energy requirements, and produce fewer harmful emissions. Their adoption fosters a greener economy, enhances public awareness, and contributes to the overall goal of achieving a more sustainable future. The aim of this article is to study some eco-friendly products that are produced by social enterprises in Uttar Pradesh. An attempt is made to study the motivation behind the development of eco-friendly products by social innovators so as to assess their subsequent impact on sustainable development. Once conducted, this study will serve as an important data repository for eco-friendly products developed in the State of Uttar Pradesh and their contribution towards sustainable development
