Abstract

The contract for the proper use of medication is a contract between a health facility and the Regional Agency of Health in charge of setting goals to secure the drug supply chain and ensure their proper use. The contract, normally set by each institution since 2006, includes three main objectives, which are to improve and secure the drug supply chain, medical devices and services, to promote and ensure multidisciplinary practices and finally to set up measures including the use of expensive drugs which prices are supported in addition to those of “homogeneous groups of stay” ( Groupes homogènes de séjour [GHS]). The nuclear medicine departments are fully covered by this contract. Strict management of prescriptions for expensive radiopharmaceuticals is already done and departments will have to secure all drugs and medical devices circuits.
