Abstract

This article is devoted to the problem of formation of movements culture in senior preschool children. The relevance of the article is determined by the need for competent organization of motor activity in preschool educational organizations, the search for new scientific and methodological approaches. The article provides an overview of academic works reflecting the content of the concepts of “motor culture” and “movements culture”: T. N. Zhurina and I. A. Milekhina define motor culture as part of the general culture of society, aimed at strengthening health, developing physical abilities of a person. E. V. Bondarenko, E. S. Medvedeva, N. Yu. Shumakova distinguishe the “movements culture” as an independent term and consider it part of the general culture of a person.The article offers the author’s definition of the concept of “movements culture of a preschool child”, it also reveals the possibilities of forming its components (motivational, cognitive-motor, creative) in senior preschool children by means of physical exercises and musical-rhythmic movements.
