Abstract

Constructive feedback is an important way to support learning and development in adult education. Providing constructive feedback refers to the trainer’s creation of interactive educational contexts, by reinforcing or modifying the learners’ behaviors based on their needs. In this context, it is important for the trainer to provide constructive feedback in the training activity in order to maximize the benefits of the training and help the adult participants to achieve their intended goals. This article reflects a range of strategies for providing constructive feedback in the context of adult learning, namely: formulating a message relevant to a particular activity and learning objectives, using clear and precise language, giving specific and detailed feedback, providing objective feedback and focusing on behavior or performance, not the individual. Thus, the use of these strategies generates a friendly educational design, oriented towards improving the performance and personal and professional development of adults in the training process.
