Abstract
Two new d10 2D layered frameworks based on mixed-synthons, namely, {[Cd(bdc)(btx)H2O]·H2O}n (1) and {[Zn2(bdc)2 (btx)2]·3H2O}n (2) (H2bdc = 1,3-benzene- dicarboxylic acid, btx = 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene), were synthesized and structurally characterized. 1 exhibits a 2D layer motif, whereas 2 features a twofold interpenetrated network. The π···π interactions and hydrogen bonds in 1 and 2 connect the 2D layers into 3D supramolecular architectures. Moreover, both 1 and 2 show strong fluorescent emissions in the solid state at room temperature, which might be potential photoactive materials. Supplemental materials are available for this article.
