Plain Language SummaryWe constructed a hybrid vaccine against the major house dust mite allergen Der f 35 based on the selection of the low or non-allergic peptide fragments derived from B-cell epitope regions. The designed vaccine and original Der f 35 were prepared, and the vaccine exhibited decreased allergenicity and Th2 activity compared to Der f 35. The vaccine was able to induce antibodies when used to immunize rabbits, and the antibodies could inhibit immunoglobulin E (it can mediate allergy reaction when it cross-linked with certain allergens and its receptor) reaction to Der f 35.
