Abstract

On December 27, 2021, a draft version of the amended Constitution of Belarus was published. It will be submitted to a referendum scheduled for February 2022. In case of its adoption, the new version will be the turning point in political history of Belarus, which is experiencing the transit of power. The paper discusses prerequisites for the constitutional reform, its main features, as well as possible consequences and risks associated with its implementation.
