Abstract

Dielectric spectrum of relaxor PLZT exhibits strong broadening on cooling the sample. Below the freezing point constant losses are observed possessing distinct magnitude down to the lowest temperatures. Such behavior is explained considering the thermally activated reversal of the local dipoles (hopping of Pb ions) in dynamical intermediate regions in the frozen phase with the statistically distributed small activated barriers. It is argued that the assumptions of the model are appropriate for perovskite structures in the vicinity of morphotropic boundary.
