Abstract
Republic of Moldova adopted the SDOs in 2015 being committed to implement them at national level, along with the elaboration of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, followed by the National Development Strategy "European Moldova 2030". This strategy, like the Global Agenda 2030, includes food security and sustainable agriculture among its priorities. The present study is about the aspects related to the implementation of objective 2.5.1a. in the Republic of Moldova, regarding the number of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture secured in either medium or long-term conservation facilities. Data on national ex situ conserved plant germplasm collections, which are stored in the ReGen database, have been successfully exported to the WIEWS FAO international database, which provides access to official data on the implementation of the SDO indicator 2.5.1a at the global level.
