Abstract
Conodont faunas from the kukersites and kukersitic limestones of the Kivioli Member are similar to coeval collections from other sedimentary facies and there are no taxa endemic to this unusual environment. The presence of Amorphognathus tvaerensis and the absence of Pygodus anserinus suggest that the lower part of the Kukruse Stage is referable to the A. tvaerensis conodont Biozone and that the base of the Upper Ordovician lies at or beneath the base of the Kukruse Stage.
