Abstract

The behavior of spouses in conflict is an urgent psychological problem that must be analyzed based on the stages of the family life cycle. Family is considered as a dynamic formation, in the course of which qualitatively different periods are distinguished. The article presents the results of a study of the behavior of spouses at different stages of the family life cycle. At the empirical level, the hypothesis is proved that the behavior in the conflict of spouses at different stages of the family life cycle is different. For couples at the middle stage, such conflict behavior strategies as cooperation and compromise are characteristic. Married couples who are at the stage of mature marriage tend to resort to rivalry in conflict situations. As the stages of the life cycle of family development pass, the spheres of marital conflict change. The results of significant differences in the behavior of men and women in conflict at different stages of the family life cycle are presented.
