Abstract
Computer control of the operation of the California Water Project is planned. Such control will permit simultaneous operation of project facilities. The existing South Bay Aqueduct has been instrumented and will be used as a model to study the control system for the entire project. The plan for computer operation of the South Bay Aqueduct is described. Control and communication equipment as well as the equipment and arrangement of the control centers are described. Operational modes of the facilities and the computer programs and the proposed program for testing and evaluation of the South Bay control system are described.
