Abstract
We will review some of the new fluid fine structures now being seen through the use of the latest computational resources. These will include both the steady and unsteady full Navier-Stokes equations, and new results including transient off-wall eddies, Rayleigh-Moffatt corner sequences by multigrid, and recirculation structure near a separation point. Other features recently found include vortex fission after collision with a wall, sublayer bursting, multiple vortex fission and fusion sequences, and persistent (Hopf) wavyness in a deep cavity at higher Reynolds number.
