Abstract
The article discusses the advantages of compiling online glossaries in the blended learning format and independent work of students; the analysis of the goals and content of lexicographic activity is carried out in the historical and modern context; the results of the experiment on conducting are discussed in the light of the acquisition of language knowledge, as well as the effectiveness of the development of over-professional skills.
