Abstract

For many people, gingival hyperpigmentation is a serious cosmetic problem. Although black gums are not a medical issue, many individuals find them unsightly. Gingival depigmentation is a periodontal plastic surgical approach that removes or reduces hyperpigmentation. Different treatment techniques for gingival depigmentation have been documented, such as scalpel, cryosurgery, electrosurgery, lasers, and so on. This article compares case management with scalpel and laser.
