Abstract

In this study, the impact strength of epoxy-based Glass Fiber-reinforced polymer composite with and without Jute fiber filler and Grass powder filler have been investigated. Materials and methodsThe hand lay-up method is used to fabricate the polymer composite in three groups of composites in which 2 groups are experimental groups and a Control Group. The G power 80 % used for sample size calculation. The impact strength of the samples for each group is tested using the standard impact testing machine by Izod test. To analyze and compare the test data, one way ANOVA test is carried out. ResultsImpact Strength of samples with and without fillers is calculated from the test data and compared. The independent sample test resulted in the p value 0.001. As p < 0.05, the observances are statistically significant and acceptable. ConclusionThe results reveal that the impact strength of Grass powder/ Jute fiber composite is 40.83 % higher plain GFRP.
