Abstract

The most important source of energy all over the world is oil. In Nigeria, it is the mainstay of her economy. Oil plays an important role in shaping the economy and political fortune of a country. Crude oil production’s effects on Nigeria's economy cannot be overemphasized, it is one of the major sources of revenue generation and its importance as a source of income in Nigeria cannot be overlooked. Hence, there is a need to carry out research on the production rate in Nigeria over some years. Some statistical techniques were used i.e., Time series analysis & Hotelling T2 to carry out various statistical analyses and it is generally observed that there is a downward movement in the yearly production of crude oil, as the government changes, the production reduces from 1999 to 2019.
