Abstract

In both road testing and test bench situations, engineers use a multitude of sensors to monitor test vehicle functions. More often than not, whether in-vehicle or on the test bench, sensor signal outputs require long cable runs to connect with measuring modules. This wiring technique not only calls for extensive modifications of the vehicle body — its substantial installation and setup efforts represent a significant cost factor in both the vehicle and on the test bench.
