Abstract

This paper introduces a dual-band microstrip annular ring slot antenna design for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (3.5 GHz) and wireless local area network (5.2 GHz) applications. The proposed antenna produces realizable gain higher than 3 dBi and return loss better than 15 dB for the stated applications. In annular slot antenna the resonant frequencies are mainly determined by the circumferential length of the slot. The antenna design consists of an annular-slot antenna in which the width of the annular slot is made to change in a sinusoidal manner to create two different circumferences in inner and outer edge. Antenna operation has been verified both through simulation and measurement.
