Abstract
In this work we investigate the structure and the surface electric reaction field of nanostructured amorphous carbon films by means of a combined atomistic and continuum approach. The aim of the present investigation is to infer a connection between the film deposition protocol and the local electrostatic field arising when the sample is subjected to an external uniform electric field. The suggested combined methodology in principle permits to characterizing both film surface electrostatics and possible interaction between film surface and other molecular aggregates of interest.
